our loose itinerary has us starting in europe and heading east toward eastern europe, the balkans, greece, turkey, israel (maybe jordan) southeast asia... and then who knows? hopefully, we'll be adding more and more shots like this one from Amsterdam...
the only thing that would make us happier would be for friends to join us or meet us along the way. at the very least, PLEASE be in touch. add your email address to the box to the right and follow us or bookmark this site, because we hope to suddenly, over night, become the most interesting travel bloggers ever. ;)
do you know of a killer hotel, pension, inn, farmhouse, lean-to or couch that would welcome two middle-aged travelers with pretty good hygiene habits? someone we should meet up with? somewhere we should go? please tell us, or join us or send us a link. we'll report back!
and to each and every one of you who said to us "that's such a GREAT idea!" thank you. seriously, thank you. now that i think about it, not one person said "that's a horrible idea." not one.
see you somewhere!

My officemate speaks highly of Budapest, and the baths there. And of course you should go to Wales. And Scotland. and Rubtsovsk, Center of World Tourism. And New Zealand. And Chile.
ReplyDeleteOh, and might I also just say: HOLY FREAKING CRAP!!! You're really doing it!
ReplyDeleteI am in awe! So amazing. Wow!
ReplyDeletelove,
your fan,
Anne
If your travels take you to Southwestern Germany, there is a little town called Rastatt only 5 km North of Baden-Baden. There you can meet up with Daniel Muller. He speaks excellent English and likes to meet Americans. You can find Daniel on my FB friends list and you can send him a FB message. He'd be happy to meet you.
ReplyDeleteTwo things: 1) The Welsh Love Spoons
ReplyDeleteand 2) What part of "we really need to get together soon" were you just joking about?
OK, three things: I hear Grass Valley is a quaint little hamlet filled with gun-toting, off the graph wing nuts. You should check it out. Some speak English but mostly you don't want to know what they have to say.
I am thrilled for youse guys!!!
Wow! I am so impressed, amazed and, I must admit, downright jealous. Go down under, it is an awesome place and the brain freeze is quite something. There you are, driving along, and a sign for"Epping" pops up and your brain just seizes up....not unlike an ice cream freeze......worth every painful minute! Sabina
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle, hi Russ!
ReplyDeleteDan recently mailed me and told me about your awesome trip. And of course, he is right, if you ever are around in SW-Germany i would be pleased to show you around. Feel free to send a facebook message whenever you want to.
Cheers,
Daniel
Vielen dank, Daniel! Wir werden.

You both rock! have a great time. You definitely need to have a Dutch Pancake for sure I can't remember the name of the restaurant. Also you should look up Boom Chicago it's a comedy show but after the show they had what was called the "smoke boat", a narrow old fishing boat that can navigate many of the canals that the tourist boats can't so you get a more unique canal tour. Also don't take photos of the ladies in the red light district as someone may try and take your camera.
ReplyDeletehey kevin,
ReplyDeletewe went to boom chicago in amsterdam last year. freaking hilarious.

This is totally awesome. But what about Africa???
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine dances for Fresco Dance Company in Tel Aviv. Let me know if you head there and I'll make introductions!
ReplyDeletethanks annelise! we may, in fact, take you up on that offer. we have friends that live near tel aviv and some near haifa, too. the more connections the better.
