HOLY FREAKING COW!

well, we did it! we've resigned our jobs, rented out our house and we're going to hit the road. it's amazing even writing that sentence. this plan has been a long time in the making, with many variations along the way, but we've finally put all the pieces together and we're doing it. doing it, i say!

our loose itinerary has us starting in europe and heading east toward eastern europe, the balkans, greece, turkey, israel (maybe jordan) southeast asia... and then who knows? hopefully, we'll be adding more and more shots like this one from Amsterdam...

the only thing that would make us happier would be for friends to join us or meet us along the way. at the very least, PLEASE be in touch. add your email address to the box to the right and follow us or bookmark this site, because we hope to suddenly, over night, become the most interesting travel bloggers ever. ;)

do you know of a killer hotel, pension, inn, farmhouse, lean-to or couch that would welcome two middle-aged travelers with pretty good hygiene habits? someone we should meet up with? somewhere we should go? please tell us, or join us or send us a link. we'll report back!

and to each and every one of you who said to us "that's such a GREAT idea!" thank you. seriously, thank you. now that i think about it, not one person said "that's a horrible idea." not one.

northern hemisphere centric? yeah, a little. but that only provides motivation. the "thumb tacks" on the map represent where we've been. clearly, we love the coasts, the hawaiian islands and europe. our india trip looks funny just hanging out there on its own but we'll work to correct that over time.

it's hard to look at this map and not immediately head over to here and get to work. believe me, and i know what i'm talking about when i say this, you can lose many an hour on that site. go ahead, click. i dare ya.
